Cherry, Walnut & Chocolate Chip Cookies For The Win!

These cookies are really good. Let's make some!

Cherry, Walnut & Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 2 1/4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Margarine (softened)
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 3 Tablespoon Water
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 Cup Dried Cherries
  • 1 Cup Vegan Chocolate Chips ( we found some really good ones at Trader Joes)
  • 1/2 Cup Crushed Walnuts
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Nutmeg

Heat oven to 375.

In a large bowl, mix Flour, Baking Soda, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Salt.

In a large bowl, blend Sugar, Brown Sugar, Margarine, Olive Oil, Water and Vanilla with an electric hand mixer at a low speed until smooth.

Add the Flour mix to the Sugar mix and blend with the hand mixer until smooth. Mix Cherries, Chocolate Chips and Walnuts into the dough with a large spoon. Drop a spoonful of dough onto the cookie sheet for each cookie about an inch apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Pull them out when they are golden brown.

  1. Those cookies look great! I never made cookies with dried cherries.
