Last night, we took this dish and made it our own. We decided that instead of using Gimme Lean Beef, we'd use Artisan Farms Mexican Chipotle Sausages chopped up. The dish was phenomenal! I'm sure it would have been good the way Annie described it, but our little swap made it fantastic! Five stars

It does melt a little but it's more of the texture of cold feta that makes it special and the flavor is pretty spot on.

I just had this for dinner. It was quite delicious! I added lemon juice and pepper to the avocado (I didn't have lemon pepper) and it turned out very nice. Thank you for this fantastic (and quite easy) recipe!

I very very rarely comment on recipes (though I have made a ton of yours) but I had to say something this time!
I am 8 months pregnant, and have had the WORST craving for Patty Melts.

I tried to be lazy and make some with Boca burgers but it just was not doing it for me.
I found this recipe and it's basically one of the best things i've ever shoved in my face!
I've made these at least once a week this whole month.

My baby and I thank you, and I am sure my husband does too, since now he doesn't have to listen to me cry about weird cravings anymore.

I made them exactly to the recipe, and they came out very good. I used a nonstick, insulated cookie sheet, and they were done in 9 minutes.

thanks for the reply, was curiously amused by seeing the ad. I too have no relationship with McDonalds short of reading about them in the news. Totally understand needing ads to fund the blog which is great i might add. We made the mexican tater tot pizza for dinner last night was a big hit even minus the cheese (i cannot find vegan cheese where i live) also hot choc muffins where pretty good too!! thanks keep up the great blog.

Actually the ads we have on our page are based on your search history and not really anything to do with out content. I mean we have no relationship with McDonalds besides never going there and taking part in online actions asking them to become more ethical. I have never actually seen a McDonalds ad on any of our pages. I usually get travel related ads like for airlines, Peta, ASPCA and Modcloth. Unfortunately we do have to have ads on our site because that pays for the grocery bills that go into testing and retesting and making these recipes - which does get pretty expensive and until very recently we have both worked for animal rights organizations for the past 10 years - but we use google ads because they are based on YOUR search history not ours. We are constantly looking into better ad systems but at this time this is the one we are stuck with. Sorry you had to see a mcDonalds ad... not sure why that would happen...

Sorry but most research would actually say the opposite. many vegetables have pytoestrogens not just soy and pytoestrogens are not the same as our estrogen. You can choose to not eat it that is your choice but I believe that non GMO soy is fine in moderation. http://www.savvyvegetarian.com/articles/soy-truth.php
